Thank you for believing in Breathe

Finally catching our breath: A thankful note from the producers of SVR X SOUND

We're totally blown away by the love and support we've received since our first event. Breathe came from a simple idea: to create a space where we could merge everything we love and invite people to kick back, connect, and maybe even find a little inspiration.

From the moment our guests arrived at Kwizin's stunning new location in Old Montreal, we knew we were onto something special. Everyone from back of house to excited guests brought fantastic energy, ready to enjoy an afternoon among art and friends. We wanted the 2-for-1 tickets to encourage guests to bring a friend or treat someone special to an afternoon of food, music, art, and meaningful conversations – and you all showed out!

Sandy's culinary skills really lit up the room with deliciously curated hors d'oeuvres, flawlessly executed by our talented chefs.

Everything we served disappeared in a flash so choosing a crowd favourite is tough, but the avocado cucumber bites and mac and cheese shells were definitely a hit! The kitchen kept the hors d’œuvres flowing all afternoon, ensuring there was a vegetarian option for each dish. And just when guests thought they had tried it all, we surprised them with a tropical crème brûlée served in a lemon bowl. Refreshing, fun and the perfect sweet treat to end such a savory and soulful afternoon.

Maison Cocktail, stationed at the bar, offered health-conscious cocktails and mocktails so good the bar was a hot zone all afternoon. A big thank you to our sponsors, Perrier and Diageo. Stay tuned for more on our collaboration with Maison Cocktail in an upcoming article.

The soul of "Breathe" was all in the good vibes of everyone present – from guests to panelists. We were genuinely impressed by the wisdom and candidness from our panelists and moderators. It felt like a warm, intimate conversation among friends, and we left with a wealth of insights and a comforting sense of solidarity in facing anxiety. It's moments like these that warm our hearts deeply, knowing we're part of a community that's all about lifting each other up.

Of course, the event wouldn’t have been complete without the photography and colorful artwork. Sophie’s attention to detail and creative eye is evident in both her photo exhibit and the thoughtful curation of the art in the space. It was such an immense joy to see so many people supporting the artists by purchasing prints and taking a piece of Breathe home with them. Learn more about the talented artists and where you can find their work in our article titled: Where Is All the Black Art?

The evening ended on a soulful note with a special acoustic performance by BLK PRL. With every gentle note built up into a power ballad of self confidence and assurance, BLK PRL took us on a musical journey, performing her newest single, “Breathe” before diving into a melody of her house-heavy discography.

None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support and contributions of our attendees, guest speakers, artists, chefs and staff. Each person brought something unique to the table, and for that, we are profoundly thankful.

As we reflect on the success of "Breathe," we're reminded of the power of community and the importance of coming together to uplift and support one another.

To everyone who joined us for "Breathe," from the bottom of our hearts, thank you! Your presence made the event truly special, and we're already counting down the days until the next one.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Sophie & Sandy
